This is the 1st Design for a Developing Live Action "Mech"
Sci-Fi Film (2008 design) that is influenced highly by
Anime Movies, but an original Story/Screenplay that a
friend has been writing since the late 90's.
Unless Toby McGuire gets "Macross/Robotech" off the
ground, this could be the 1st "Real" Live Action Anime with
a Big Budget (i know i know, every geek wants to make
"the right" live action Anime, but we want to give the
genre justice, and not make it cheesy or succumb to any
lame compromises).
Believe it or not, this particular design will probably look a
bit wilder by phases II and III, but we have a few standard
Mech as well, and other Special Forces.
I tend toward the more Organic designs, like Masumune
Shirow, and the Wild and Exotic of Mamoru Nagano with
the Western Sci-Fi Designers (Syd Mead, Ralph McQuarrie,
Jim Burns, Chris Foss, Anthony Masters, Ron Cobb, Doug
Chiang, Joe Johnston etc.).
But we have lots of others to look into for "Basic" Designs
along with the more exotic that will come into Act 3 that
will just blow everyone away in the last Battle sequences.
Well, I hope to put up more Designs soon

I love the shoulder launch mechanism. That's a genius use of the extra space created by Nagano's shoulder-plate style of design. It would look totally BAD-ASS on film!!!
